Formlabs standard resin

High-Resolution Rapid Functional Prototyping Materials

3D print strong, precise concept models and prototypes that bring your ideas to life with Formlabs’ library of general-purpose materials.

Versatile, tough and durable resins for the production of detailed parts

The standard resins are great all-round advanced materials, perfect for the production of end-use parts with smooth surfaces. They come in a range of colours including black, white, grey and clear. They also have a colour kit, made up of cyan, magenta and yellow, allowing users to create bespoke colour shades. Offering strength and stability, the standard resin also allows for a super smooth finish and unsurpassed levels of detail.

Standard Resins are excellent all-round dynamic materials for iterative design and the low-cost digital production of final-use parts. They facilitate an unsurpassed level of detail and smooth surface finish, with support for resolutions as fine as 25 microns. This doesn’t come at the cost of either strength or stability, allowing you to print end-use parts with confidence.

Supplied in one-litre resin cartridges in a variety of colours, and supplemented by Formlabs’ innovative Colour Kit, each Standard Resin cartridge is quick and easy to swap out and represent excellent value for money.

Black Resin

Achieve unprecedented levels of detail using Formlabs’ highly-pigmented Black Resin. With support for layer heights of 100-, 50- and 25-microns when paired with the Formlabs Form 3 printer, it produces smooth curves and fine detail to accurately reproduce complex 3D models. Stylish and sophisticated, parts printed using Black Resin have a matte finish that further absorbs light for a rich, deep and satisfying appearance.

White Resin

Give your parts a lift with bright White Resin. With support for print resolutions down to 50 microns and a purity unsurpassed within the Formlabs materials library, White Resin is also the perfect base for any parts that require painting in post-production. Its neutral finish removes the need for a second coat, saving both cost and development time, so you can iterate designs and deliver them to your customers faster.

Grey Resin

Formlabs neutral Grey Resin lets you focus on the detail of a part without being distracted by unnecessary colour or its interplay with cast light. Supporting the finest print resolution of 25 microns, Grey Resin is the perfect choice for general-purpose prototyping while remaining a robust, practical choice for end-use, but non-functional parts.

Clear Resin for Transparent Applications

Stereolithography 3D printing technology makes clear prints possible on the desktop. Clear Resin is great for fluidics and moldmaking, optics, lighting, and any parts requiring translucency.

Simulate glass with Formlabs Clear Resin, with excellent transparency properties that can be further enhanced with a little polishing in post-production. Clear Resin delivers unimpeded light transmission, accurately reproducing the effect of real glass in development parts and showcasing internal features where required. Suitable for painting, it can further simulate models that would otherwise be made with multiple materials, in which a clear “window” would form only one element within the finished part.

Draft Resin for Truly Rapid Prototyping

Draft Resin prints up to four times faster than Formlabs standard high detail materials, making it ideal for initial prototypes and rapid iterations to help bring products to market faster. Parts printed with Draft Resin exhibit a smooth grey finish and high accuracy. Use 200 micron settings for fast print speeds, or use 100 micron settings for models with finer details.
